Sanibel Island, Florida

Explore the Island

World-class shelling, pristine wildlife refuges, fresh Gulf seafood, and a pace of life that slows you down in the best possible way.

Beaches

Sun, Sand & Shells

Sanibel is world-famous for its shelling — the island's east-west orientation causes shells to wash ashore in extraordinary numbers. Every beach is a treasure hunt.

Bowman's Beach

~3 miles from Sundial

Sanibel's most secluded and beloved beach. Wide, uncrowded, and consistently ranked among the best shelling beaches in the world. Arrive early for the best finds.

Best shelling at low tide, early morning.

Lighthouse Beach Park

Home to the iconic Sanibel Lighthouse (1884), this park offers calm waters, a fishing pier, and a beautiful stretch of beach at the island's eastern tip.

Great for families and calm-water swimming.

Turner Beach

A popular sunset-watching spot at the western end of Sanibel where the island meets Captiva. Expect crowds at dusk — and for good reason.
